My story
Rose is a gorgeous natural eared sweet and affectionate young red Doberman weighing in at about 60 lbs. She is your typical young Velcro dobergirl and wont let you leave the room without her. At less than a year, Rose is a bundle of energy and is best suited for an active family with no young children to knock down where she can get lots of attention and exercise. If you dont pay attention to her, she is quite independent and will entertain herself (although not always in an appropriate way). She would be a great candidate for agility or rally. She is smart, food motivated and eager to please. Rose gets along with other dogs and cats. She is currently living with a 3 year old female Doberman. They will play chase and wrestle. Rose knows sit, down, and come as long as you have food and treats. She walks ok on a harness but pulls very hard on just a collar. She is house broken but needs her humans to pay close attention and make sure she gets outside when needed as she doesnt always give a lot of notice. She sleeps through the night without needing to go out. She can be a barker and likes to dig so may need some positive reinforcement on acceptable boundaries. When going outside, she should not be left unsupervised for long periods of time until she earns that privilege. She gets bored easily and loves chasing squirrels and actively looks for a way out of the yard. We use high value treats or shaking of food treats to practice recall to keep her safe. For Rose, a crate is required. She is crate trained and can stay in her crate quietly even if you are home which is sometimes needed as she is still a puppy and into everything. She does not chew on furniture but will snatch things off of tables and counters occasionally if not supervised. She is curious and inquisitive and should be crated when left alone until she earns the privilege to be left in the house without supervision. She loves toys and bones. She is a powerful chewer and can destroy most toys but does not eat toys/stuffing. She does not guard bones/toys but also does not always leave another dog alone that has a toy/bone. On that note, if you leave socks and such on the floor, they may be mistaken for chew toys. Please, plan to put them (and other high interest/value personal items) out of reach.
