My story
Meet our sweet, goofy boy Willy! Willy is a one-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who came to the Kentucky Humane Society in August from a rural overcrowded shelter. When Willy arrived at KHS, he was severely underweight and missing the majority of his fur. He had had a very rough life but with lots of TLC, he regained his strength and started putting on weight. As Willy started to become healthy and feel better, his true personality started to emerge. Underneath the skin and bones was a handsome pup full of life and love! He became more active and we decided to enroll him into our Behavior Modification program where he began working on his manners and learning to control his excitement. Willy is now graduated and ready to find a family to love! Willy is a lovable guy who loves to roll around on the floor, play hard and get his belly scratched. He absolutely loves treats and running outside. He would love to go home with someone who enjoys the great outdoors, toss balls for him to chase and give him all the love he's been missing. Willy does great with dogs of a similar size and energy level as him. He does play very physically so a meet and greet with any potential friends is required so we can make sure Willy won't be too much for his new friend(s). Willy has been a little too interested in kitties so a cat-free home is best. Could you be the one for this active boy? If so, please come meet him!
